Welcome girls. Please give a warm welcome for author and former private investigator, Jane Doe.
“Good afternoon. Your president has asked me, to inform you of the dangerous, bloodthirsty vampires that surround the W.V.U. campus. Please pay close attention. All of you are at risk for an unprovoked vampire attack.
“First I will tell you a bit about the history of vampires in the U.S. The first reported attack was in 1849. A young woman, much like yourselves, took a hike in the mountains near her home in Denver, CO. Her body was found a month later in a garbage dump. According to the Sheriff on the case, she had two small puncture wounds in her neck. The distance measured between the holes was the same as the average distance between a man’s canine teeth.
“You may wonder why I choose to tell such a gruesome tale. I do mot mean to frighten you, only to make you aware of these creatures who wait and watch—then strike at the opportune moment. Seventy-six sorority girls have already been murdered this year by bloodthirsty vampires. There have been several reports lately of shady characters lurking around on campus. Please report any suspicious activities to campus security at once.
“To avoid an attack, stay in groups, even during the day, and always let someone know when you expect to be returning to your dorm. Carry a small handgun in your purse, to use only if you are in dire peril. Try your best not to scream, because experts now know that the screams just encourage them.
“I hope you will take my words to heart and avoid the fates of so many innocent women before you. Thank you for your time and attention.”
